Our Technology

Below are the various forms of dental technology our staff integrates into most, if not all, of our treatments. This equipment allows them to provide prompt and precise care to patients in need.

1. CBCT Scanner
A Cone Beam Computed Tomography scanner is a unique imaging device primarily used by orthodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons. This is because CBCT scanners are designed to capture 3D photos of a patient’s head and neck region, such as their teeth, tissues, jaw, nerves, and sinus. The scanner can help dental specialists identify tumors and fractures and plan surgical procedures like implant placement.

2. CEREC
CEREC is an abbreviation of Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This piece of equipment allows dentists to design tooth restorations in the office and place them in a single appointment. Examples include veneers, crows, and bridges. Computer-aided technology is brought in to capture images of a patient’s smile, which are then used to design a prosthetic that meets their oral dimensions.

3. Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera is a small, wand-like camera that takes high-resolution images inside a patient’s oral cavity. A build-in light helps generate clear images. As your dentist takes the photos by moving the wand around your mouth, the pictures show up in real-time on a computer monitor. Cavities, gum disease, and fractures are just a few issues that can be detected with an intraoral camera.

4. iTero Scanner
An itero scanner is a device similar to an intraoral camera. A wand camera is connected to the iTero system. It emits an infrared light that scans the patient’s oral cavity. As this happens, images are generated and displayed on the computer system. This type of scanner can easily capture detailed images of issues that are difficult to detect. This can be a great tool for generating customized prosthetics, as it eliminates the need for physical molds and x-rays.

5. Dental Lasers
Dental lasers are devices that make use of concentrated light beams. Laser dentistry can be integrated into various treatments, including gum reshaping, frenectomies, crown lengthening, teeth whitening, and biopsy collection. Laser dentistry is continually growing in popularity because of the many advantages it provides patients – reduced bleeding, versatility, and a quicker recovery time are just a few examples.

6. VELscope
A VELscope is a handheld appliance used during oral cancer screenings. It emits a fluorescent blue light when shone into a patient’s mouth. When the light lands on healthy tissues, the color does not change; in comparison, if unhealthy or otherwise abnormal tissue is found, the light will alter. This is a non-invasive process and can be done in just a few minutes. A VELscope is an invaluable tool, allowing dentists to identify cancer warning signs of cancer and treat patients right away.
